Akitsuki; Day of the Samurai is currently in alpha stage development and as such all are welcome to join the realm and participate in this growing time. However, please be aware that there are a limited amount of players that can enter the land at any one time. In recent months this has meant that many people have been unable to gain access, due to the high volume of players. Rest assured that we are working on increasing the potential player base daily and we intend to be moving towards beta stage development in early August 2006. This should increase the maximum amount of players to approximately 400.

In the mean time, we strongly advise anyone who cannot gain access but still wishes to play Akitsuki, to browse our Forums. These forums have proven extremely useful in recent months. Many players have submitted alpha stage development player applications and have been allowed access to the MUD because of their special interest in the history of feudal Japan. Those who show enthusiasm and an interest in being involved in this development stage have a strong chance of being included. We are especially interested in hearing from people with historical knowledge covering the Sengoku to early Edo period or from people who have had experience in playing Muds or roleplaying games in the past.

Please consider your choice very carefully and remember that Akitsuki is a roleplaying game set in feudal Japan. If you are having trouble with this choice then simply choose as an appropriate name as you can. You may be contacted at later date with the offer of help in choosing something more to your liking if the name of your character is obviously inappropriate to the roleplaying environment.
If you would like suggestions e-mailed to you then send an message via our Contact Us page and include in your e-mail the current name of your character. If you can envisage yourself playing a certain type of character, perhaps a Samurai, Ninja, Ronin or even a Geisha then this information will help the support team in finding a suitable name for you.
